Once connected with hippies in broken down vans, Cannabis sativa L., or more specifically the achenes (seeds) have been recorded in medical texts for nearly 2000 years.
According to researchers, "All parts of the cannabis plant have been recorded in historical Chinese medical texts, including the achene (seed), female inflorescence, leaf, and root, as well as the cortex of the stalk and the water used to process the stalk into fiber. However, only the achenes (seeds) are currently used in clinical practice."
Hemp, as a skincare ingredient, helps to reduce oxidative stress.
Clinically, hemp has been used as medicine, dietary oil and even food. Uses range from treating headaches, epilepsy and insomnia, to shrinking cancerous tumors.
According the the National Academy of Sciences, Hemp has been found to have more antioxidant power behind it than Vitamins E and, C.
Antioxidant properties neutralize free radicals. Free radicals are sort of the jerks in the nightclub, that need to be escorted away... and this is exactly what Hemp does.
It has been stated that Hemp could even directly hinder skin cancer, and studies have supported such. Hemp has been proven to support the healing and/or inflammation of eczema and psoriasis, but there is a caveat.
The smoking of Cannibis has been proven to do the opposite.
Study after study has proven that smoking Cannabis can break down collagen, make the skin more dry and brittle and give an appearance of increased aging. While it may help pain, etc., for skin... not so great.
The three top ways to benefit from Hemp for your skin:
1. As a mask
2. As a creme wash
3. As a vapor mist
How to use YouPhoria to benefit your skin:
1. As a mask: Apply a few pinches of formula to one palm, and then wet the other hand. Make a paste and apply. Let dry, then rinse off.
2. As a creme wash: (this is how I use it most) Put a pinch of formula in one hand, wet the other hand, then gently rub hands together until the formula becomes milky (will take only a second or two). Apply to face and neck. Rinse gently and pat dry.
3. As a vapor mist: With a clean face, begin with a cup of boiled or steaming water. Put a pinch of formula in the cup. Bring face over top of the cup and allow the mist to penetrate your pores. Simply pat dry or air dry after.
