Face Mapping is an ancient practice of connecting what is happening on the face, to what is needing attention in the body.
What does your breakout mean?
What do your wrinkles tell the world?
Taking this a step further, we can look at the three most common areas of the face and connect them to the emotions as well.
Let's look at the three main areas of the face, in relation to mind-body breakouts and stress lines.
When we are angry, we tend to be "hot headed" and "feel like we need to blow some steam". Interestingly, this is also the dehydration area.
When our skin is plump because we are hydrated and, we are calm, it's rare to see as deep of lines in the forehead. Eating greasy foods, bladder issues and too much alcohol or sugar can also create lines or breakouts here.
Practice: Extra water, meditation or prayer and yoga, nature walks in the early AM.
Lemon water throughout the day.
Work on forgiving.
The next area, the mid-face area, is where our frustrations surface, and we try to purge our struggles.
This is where the food detox breakouts often occur. This is also where you'll see allergies flare - at the eyes, under the eyes, at the nose area. The nose is also related to the heart and blood pressure, again, frustration plays a big part here.
Lower or eliminate caffeine and sugary foods.
Get a good sweat going with a brisk walk, jog or workout. Journal. Laugh with friends, socialize with positive people.
Lastly, we have the chin and jawline area.
This is where hormones and sadness reside in face mapping; women tend to hold in emotions and sadness and if we think of the quivering chin in sadness, we can see how the chin is directly related to this emotion, symbolically.
Balance hormones naturally first if possible, then seek medical options.
Work on root chakra.
Forgive and focus on addressing fear.
Move a bit more daily, eat a high fiber diet with plenty of water.
