Since the beginning of time, as recorded, people have been infatuated with solar eclipses and in fact, even those of us not as interested in astrology, sit up and take notice of these events.
Eclipses are always the ultimate show, with built-in eery darkness, but this one especially will be unique. While only a partial eclipse, it is going to be quite a popular one, with the Northern USA, parts of Europe and even Asia. (August 11th)
What will it look like? A crescent, in this position of a "smile".
We know that like every living creature, we are in sync with the magnetic earth as well as the celestial pulls that also dictate the tides. So, could this trinity of Moon, Sun and Earth play a part in our skin? Our Moods?
Think of an eclipse as a little rejuvenation.
As much as we try not to (well some of us), we fight nature. We use electricity and lights at night, we sleep from exhaustion in the day with naps, we use heating and air conditioning to trick our bodies as if we are not experiencing weather, seasons or night and day.
Aha, Mother Nature has the last laugh with an eclipse. Even though we might still be using our lamps and cells phones, we also can't deny that the natural rhythm of the eclipse, and the circadian rhythms are not there. We don't have to be aware for them to be valid and, to be shaping our cells.
What can our skin potentially expect?
1. Increased dryness
2. Increased clogged pores
3. Exasperated hormonal acne
On top of this, you might find yourself more tired. Or irritable. You might have a "short fuse" and lose composure. You might find yourself more weepy or, decide it's time to binge on Hallmark Channel movies and cuddle up with tissues and almond ice cream.
How to address your skin? Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. This too, shall pass. Go with the (celestial) flow.
Either way, this is a time for renewal. Enjoy!
