Her story began in the '80s when Michele Paiva was a teen interested in science, healing, and beauty. She began her journey in cosmetology school, specializing in the care of skin, the body and movement, and the biology and psychology of our dreams and struggles.
Over 30 years of research and experience is in each skincare formula, program, podcast and speaker experience.
Her journey led her to found a yoga and arts center that was in existence for over two decades and working in journalism both in print and broadcast, concentrating on science, health and, public affairs. During this timeframe, she transitioned to working as a trauma psychotherapist, specializing in the biology, chemistry, neuroplastic and psychotherapeutic roots and responses of the situations, transitions, and experiences of unique to women. Advanced and postgraduate studies in anxiety, depression, OCD, disordered eating, oxytocin, autoimmunity, and addiction, carried her into a deeper understanding of her clients; mostly women in struggle.
During this timeframe, though very satisfied with her work, she noticed on thread that seemed constant in all of her clients; regardless of why they attended therapy or coaching, be it abuse as a child, anorexia or recent betrayal, all of the teens and women felt "not enough" and "unattractive". She began to study the connection of the mind and skin, and in that, she began to address clients differently, helping them to celebrate their beauty.
In this, when women began to see the "truth under trauma©" and see themselves differently when they looked in the mirror, they began to heal more rapidly and more deeply.
It was then that Paiva decided to combine her love of all things beauty and healing and develop Paiva Skincare and Psychodermatology, the first and only psychodermatology skincare line.
The skincare line has been featured in Europe and the United States in various magazines, red carpets and other media, including being featured in Times Square billboards during fashion week.
Her Podcast, "Skin, Soul, Psyche" offers free support for those who wish to overcome anxiety and feel better about themselves, their relationships and to improve their self and net value.
