The big four in a nutshell....
1. No lateness. Must be in class at start time
2. At end of class relaxation, if you must leave please do so BEFORE relaxation/meditation "Savasana".
3. Do not speak to other students during class, even if they are your spouse or friend. Keep it authentic to yoga.
4. Focus on the now; expect to have varied experiences ranging from relaxation to working through upheaval or stress. Enjoy.
5. Most of all, thank you for entrusting our studio. We strive to make this the best experience for you.
Now the rest :)
Things to Know about our studio
- No Drop Ins Our clients register beforehand to allow us to give personalized service. -You must register online and, cancel online. Continued failing to cancel will result in a charged class and for appointments, a cancel fee will be applied to next service booked. We understand that things come up but we ask for the mutual respect canceling if you can't be available. - -Yoga and spa treatments are practiced in a quiet atmosphere. Even if you are not participating in a class and leaving/entering, please be mindful of the focus on silence, whispered voices and relaxation. -Only water in studio. (no juice, soda, etc) -Try to refrain from wearing perfumes and colognes, but we applaud showered, clean bodies :) -Do not step on someone else's yoga mat & if you borrow one, please wipe it down after you use it. -Shoes should not be worn in the yoga space; only in the reception area. -Please immediately remove shoes and place shoes and personal items (purses, jackets, etc) on shelving provided. NO CELL PHONES in yoga room OR lobby. Turn them off! Vibrate is not acceptable. Remember that if you choose to chat during class, it takes others off of their focus and is a faux pas in yoga; and it clearly shows you are not focused. Turn inward and by respecting others sense of calm and peace, you are respecting their practice (that they are investing in, in many ways). | Yoga
Yoga is very personal. No two people have the same practice even if they look similar in their postures. Everyone comes in the door with a different background, set of experiences, limitations, weaknesses and strengths. We understand that and so should you, so please do not judge yourself or others on or off the mat. There is really no such thing as a beginner or advanced student. You are either familiar with yoga or not familiar. In every step of the way, which is a continued journey, there is something to work on, something to strive for and something to relax into and embrace. Learn to accept where you are right now. This means that those who are inflexible or not as familiar, should take their time and gain confidence in their abilities and those who are naturally or have worked at gaining strength and flexibility may want to start digging deeper into their psyche. This means in any one class, the person who "looks on the surface" more advanced may actually be struggling more than you think. Stay focused on your own journey. Dress in layers. It is a good idea to bring a towel and water to soak up sweat or hydrate. Cold water is not suggested and can cause cramping; room temperature water is highly suggested. Try to focus on a class that is appropriate for you; new students may want to take a variety of classes to find that fit. Above all, relax into your postures and into the mindset, and enjoy the process. This is what it is all about. Schedule & Register HERE |
