The foundation of Paiva yoga is what is known as Power Yoga, a loose term first coined by Beryl Bender Birch, and further made popular by Baron Baptiste and Bryan Krest, that combines many aspect of Vinyasa* and Ashtanga, though, is a more pliable style that offers the client a way to customize the practice rather than conform to the practice, truly making it a personal experience.
*Vinyasa in a brief term is connecting breath to movement*
Power, as the name suggests is a very powerful form of yoga
with an emphasis on increasing strength, flexibility and endurance.
What's up with the Elephant?
Paiva's Power yoga utilizes symbolism of the omnipotent elephant, which is based upon not only power and strength, but commitment, wisdom and intelligence. Using science along with ancient Ayurveda, Paiva's Power style is all about a focus on wellness and, is appropriate for anyone, at any level.

Ayurveda
All services and classes at the Spa are under the umbrella of Ayurveda, an ancient and proven method of wellness; the name when broken apart, literally means "longevity related to science". Ayurveda is an excellent complimentary modality to modern science and medicine. The symbol of the spa is the peacock, which in the past represents integrity, guidance and authenticity; all integral characteristics for the staff as well as the clients & students to keep close to their practice and experience at the spa.
Some Examples of Ayurveda include:
Yoga, customized for your body type, disposition and more
Massage therapy ...Aromatherapy ...Music Therapy ...Art Therapy ...Nutrition & Ayurvedic Diet
Acupuncture and Acupuncture Meridian Stimulation
Ayurvedic modalities do not treat disease, but instead, can address the imbalance that causes the disease.
Examples of this include PMS, asthma, insomnia, digestive disturbances, headaches, ulcers, skin conditions, depression, high blood pressure, arthritis and menstrual difficulties, to name just a few.
For those with no specific noticeable symptoms, Ayurveda helps you to understand the energetic makeup of your own unique body as well as how to maintain your health and well-being so that disease can find no foothold, helping you to stay healthy and balanced for the entirety of your life.
Have you ever wondered why you have to work out so hard to get results, or you diet endlessly with no long-term benefits or progress?
It's because you are working (often) against your body. An Ayurvedic approach helps to balance and address your needs, with more productive results.
The Hamsa is also a symbol, which resonates the hand of God, multi-religious and multi-cultural, and a universal reminder of protection. Without God, this spa and it's focus would not be possible. Symbols are simply depictions, but God created all, and the spa is built upon the premise that honoring nature including our own life, and quality of life, is an obligation, not a choice.
